Skyscanner is my go-to flight comparison tool that helps you find the cheapest or most convenient fares. I use it to spot deals fast and plan flexible solo adventures without overwhelm.
My go-to accomodation platform is Booking.com, which makes it easy to compare places to stay, filter by solo traveller reviews, and book with flexible cancellation.
Hostelworld is great for finding and booking social, budget-friendly hostels with reviews from fellow solo travellers. I love that HostelWorld has an app that helps you meet people staying in the same hostel or city.
I travelled India with G Adventures and loved how their small group tours blend authentic experiences with support. They’re a great fit for solo travellers who want cultural depth, meaningful connections, and a bit of structure to ease the anxiety of going it alone.
Viator lets you book tours and experiences in advance, from city tours to entrance passes. I use it when I want to explore but don’t feel like figuring it all out on my own (especially if the place is difficult to get to).
GetYourGuide helps you find and book trusted activities, including skip-the-line tickets and unique day trips. It’s ideal for solo travellers who want structure without joining a full tour.
Flytographer connects you with a local photographer for a quick shoot while you travel. It’s a great way to get beautiful, professional photos — no tripod or awkward selfies needed.
Wise is a travel money card that helps you save on international transfers and card payments with low fees and great exchange rates. It’s what I use to avoid the usual bank charges when travelling. It’s also a Visa, which is the most widely accepted type of card abroad.
A safe, supportive community for shy and introverted travellers who already love travel or have dreams of exploring the world.
A free printable featuring 18 icebreaker questions to help shy travellers confidently start conversations.
I use DreamHost, as the hosting platform, to run my blog — it’s super reliable, affordable, and easy to set up. It also works seamlessly with WordPress, which is the platform I use to write and design my website.
Travelpayouts is the affiliate platform I use to earn a bit of passive income from my blog by sharing the tools I actually use. It’s great if you want to monetise your content without feeling pushy or in-your-face about it.
I use MailerLite to manage my subscribers and send emails to my list — it offers a generous free plan (with automations!). Perfect if you’re just starting out and want an easy, affordable way to grow and connect with your audience.
MEET HAYLEE
I’m Haylee, a shy solo female traveller who’s explored more than 40 countries (and counting). Once too shy to ask for directions or speak to strangers, I’ve overcome those anxieties to explore as much of the world as I can – and I want to inspire you to do the same!
I’m all about bucket list destinations, as well as uncovering lesser-known places. When I’m not travelling, you’ll find me adventuring here at home in Western Australia.
