Hello, I’m Haylee. I’m an Australian traveller planning to see and experience as much of the world as I can.

As an extremely shy and introverted person, it was a surprise to those who knew me that after leaving high school much of my life took place overseas. At 19-years-old, I moved to New York where I studied and then graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Writing and Rhetoric. After graduating, I took some time to be at home – with a few overseas solo trips in between – before I began my professional writing career in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. After living abroad for some time, I decided to be based at home in Perth, Australia, where the next three years I spent saving and solo travelling as much as I could. In 2019, following a 7-week solo trip to Morocco and Egypt, I made the spontaneous decision to live abroad again and moved to London for three months. I found myself back in Perth in late 2019 for a short time; before I moved to Melbourne in February 2020 to experience big city living a little closer to home. I was there for exactly one month before Covid-19 hit, where I pretty quickly packed up and moved back home to Perth (hours before the borders shut) while  the world figured out the “new normal”.

During that time, I was really sure if travel would ever be accessible, let alone ever get back to the way that it was. I really stepped away from my blog and Instagram because it was a very strange time. When things began to slowly open back up, three years on, something about my blog didn’t really fit anymore. Since 2016, my travels were shared under the blog name “From All Corners”, which was conceived as an outlet for me to combine two of my biggest passions: travel and writing. But I quickly realised, the name didn’t resonate anymore and it certainly doesn’t say much about who I am as a traveller.

Now, “Away with Wonder” reflects what I love about travelling – the curiosity I have for exploring unfamiliar places.

I like a mix of jam-packed itineraries and fast-paced travel as well as a bit of slow travel to ensure I don’t burn out, especially when travelling for long periods of time. I enjoy a mix of typically touristy activities and off-the-beaten-path experiences. Unless we’re talking culinary then I’m a tad more reserved, with the exception of anything that speaks to my sweet tooth.

My adventures thus far have allowed me to travel to over 30 countries and given me the opportunity to live on three different continents – and I can’t wait to experience more!
